Admissions
The admissions process for Birchwood School has three steps:

Step 1: Becoming Informed

Because we work closely with our families to insure that their children receive
the best possible education, it is important that we have a similar view toward
education. We like prospective families to take a close look at who we are,
what we believe educationally, and then decide whether Birchwood School
"fits" them. Toward this end we provide:
1 - Reading materials in print and on the web
2 - Names of current Birchwood families who will answer questions
3 - An informative interview with the directors, Mr. and Mrs. Debelak

Step 2: Applying for Admission

Once parents decide that Birchwood School is a good "fit" for their child, they
should take the following steps:
1 - Submit an
application form
2 - Submit current achievement records (report cards, standardized test
scores, etc.)
3 - Make an appointment with the school office for their child to attend
classes at Birchwood for a two hour block (first graders). Primary teachers
will give younger children an informal evaluation, testing reading, math
and writing levels. Older children will spend the day and be given a formal
entrance exam.

Step 3: Admission
1 - Meet with the directors for a final interview. Discuss student's achievement
level and aptitudes. Discuss academic directions.
2 - Upon acceptance, complete and submit the enrollment agreement with
non-refundable registration fees.
