PETER
ELHARDT
Cellist Peter Elhardt grew up in Thousand Oaks, California, where he
began studies with Andrew Cook at age 10. After three years of playing,
he became principle cellist of the Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra. Mr.
Elhardt went on to lead the cello section of the CSUN Youth
Philharmonic, which he joined in a tour to Flagstaff, Arizona for the
2004 Southwest Youth Orchestra Festival. In 2004 and 2005 respectively,
he appeared as a soloist with the CSUN Youth Philharmonic as well as
the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic. In 2006 Mr. Elhardt joined the Ventura
Baroque Chamber Players, with whom he performed on a regular basis
until the time of his enrollment in the Cleveland Institute of Music,
where he currently studies with Richard Weiss. While pursuing his
Bachelor's Degree in Performance, Mr. Elhardt is active as a teacher
and as a member of a string quartet. In his free time he enjoys playing
ultimate and distance running.
